Compared to last week steers less than 500 lbs sold steady to 4.00 higher, over 500 lbs sold 4.00 to 10.00 lower. Heifers over 500 lbs sold 6.00 to 10.00 lower. Slaughter steers and heifers sold 2.00 lower. Slaughter cows sold 3.00 to 6.00 higher and bulls sold steady. Demand was moderate to good. Wintery weather across the state shortens receipts at various reporting auctions and took some demand off feedlot placements. The slaughter steer and heifer market were just behind the eight-ball last week with the market not taking off until Friday in most trading regions and the Iowa sales had already taken place.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Iowa barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
