Compared to last Thursday, not enough stocker or feeder cattle this week for accurate trends. Offerings this week where mostly in small bunches and singles. CME Feeder cattle futures traded $1.60 to $2.50 lower on Thursday as well. The CME Feeder Cattle Index from 2/28 was 24 cents weaker at $159.67. Slaughter cows and bulls 1.00-3.00 higher as supplies in the trade area where light this week. Trade active with very good demand. Weekly FAS data had beef export bookings at 23,761 MT from the week that ended 2/24. That was the most for a single week since 11/11/21. China contributed 4,060 MT of the total sale. USDA reported beef exports at 17,611 MT for the same week, which set the year’s total export at 117,905 MT. China has been the destination for 17,102 MT.
