Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder Steers 500 to 600 lbs 8.00 lower; 600 to 700 lbs were lightly tested, trending lower. Feeder Heifers under 550 lbs did not have enough at the last sale to make a market comparison, but were trending lower; 550 to 600 lbs steady; 600 to 700 lbs 8.00 to 10.00 lower; 700 to 800 lbs steady. Demand was good for this small offering of feeder steers, and larger offering of heifer calves. Most of the packages were vaccinated, weaned and home raised. Bangs vaccinated heifers continue to come through the ring as producers make difficult decisions based on feed supplies and lack of moisture, although another spring storm is in the forecast for the weekend. The next feeder cattle special is April 22. The machinery auction scheduled for April 24 is postponed until May 1, because of the weather.
