Compared to last week: Slaughter steers 4.00 to 5.00 higher, heifers sold with higher undertones, too limited for full comparison. Very good demand for this lighter offering of slaughter steers, few heifers offered. The market was much more active than it has been in recent weeks as all packer buyers were bidding and getting cattle bought. The cattle continue to be very eye appealing as they are carrying a lot of finish on them, some lots were over finished as there were steers at 1800 lbs. The CME Live Cattle futures finally was able to make a good rain but still can't close the gap and trade par with cash. 6 full loads of steers, balance stock trailer loads.

Slaughter lambs under 110 lbs 10.00 to 20.00 lower, except 90 lbs 20.00 higher, over 110 lbs mostly steady, except over 150 lbs 6.00 to 10.00 lower. Good demand for this large offering of slaughter lambs, two full loads of finished lambs, along with plenty of smaller groups gave buyers plenty of opportunities to get their needs met. Slaughter ewes steady to firm. Moderate demand for the few light lambs to go to feed, the majority of light lambs continue to go to slaughter accounts.
