Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Good demand for slaughter cattle this week after last week's sharp advance in the direct country trade, yet not all packer buyers were wiling to chase cattle further than where the April CME Live Cattle contract was at today. The quality remains very high as the cattle continue to weigh very heavy and are clean hided, for the most part. The weather has remained ideal for feeding cattle and they have continued to perform very well. The quality grade is high and dressing percents are fair because of how well finished they are. Estimated dressed cost looks to be around 335.00. 10 full loads of steers and heifers, balance part loads and stock trailer loads.

Slaughter lambs unevenly steady, except lambs 150 lbs up to 15.00 higher. Slaughter ewes steady to weak. Good demand for slaughter lambs, but with the large supply of light lambs buyers did have to compete as heavily to get them bought. Moderate to good demand for slaughter ewes. Good demand for feeder lambs and bred ewes.
