Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers steady to 2.00 higher. Good demand for this nice offering of very attractive, high quality grading steers and heifers. The market was active but packers weren't willing to chase the market to get their needs bought, a winter storm with snow and very high winds moving across Nebraska and Iowa is making travel conditions difficult. 9 full loads of steers an heifers, several short loads, along with numerous stock trailer loads to combine and make full loads of. Another day of gains in the CME Live Cattle futures, along with a 6.00 gain in the boxed beef cutout lent support to the market.

Slaughter lambs under 100 lbs unevenly steady, over 100 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher, instances of 15.00-18.00 higher on 100-120 lbs. Slaughter ewes mostly steady. Good demand for slaughter lambs. Good demand for slaughter ewes. Very good demand for bred ewes as there were a couple of really high quality, attractive bred ewes along with a string of open ewes that sold per cwt. The market was very active on the replacement ewes.
