Compared to last week: Slaughter steers 3.00 to 4.00 lower, heifers too limited last week to offer a full comparison, lower undertones noted. Moderate to good demand for steers and heifers this week, sharp gains in the CME Live Cattle futures, and boxed beef cutout values at 340.00 helped to support the market. The market was not as active as last week as there has been a lot of uncertainty in the outside markets. The quality of cattle continues to be very high grading and eye appealing. 3 full loads of steers, 3 full loads of heifers, balance half loads and stock trailer loads.

Slaughter lambs under 110 lbs unevenly steady, over 110 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 lower. Good to very good demand for those light lambs, only moderate demand for the traditional weight lambs. Slaughter ewes 5.00 to 10.00 higher, very good demand as there are plenty of buyers bidding on these ewes. A very large offering of lambs for this time of year and the market was active on those non-traditional weight slaughter lambs, not as active on the heavier weights as the supply has been plentiful enough to keep packers from having to chase the market.
