Compared to last week: Slaughter steers steady with a couple instances of 2.00 higher, heifers fully steady, Holstein steers fully steady. Demand just moderate for this nice offering of hard fed steers and heifers. 7 full loads of steers, 2 full loads of heifers, balance part loads and small packages. Weighing conditions ranged from full cattle that were hauled in this morning to those that were in a nice, fair condition as they were hauled overnight. Estimated dressed cost ranged from 156.00-160.00. Boxed beef values were lower again today as the daily cattle slaughter has reached up to 121,000 for the second consecutive day this week. Slaughter cows steady 2.00 lower, bulls steady compared to last Wednesday's sale.

Slaughter lambs mostly steady, feeder lambs not well compared but a higher undertone was evident, slaughter ewes steady to 5.00 lower with the full decline on the Utility ewes. Demand was moderate to good for slaughter lambs, good demand for feeder lambs, only moderate demand for slaughter ewes.
