Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers 1.00 to 3.00 higher, Holstein steers 2.00 to 3.00 lower. Moderate to good demand early in the sale as the Live Cattle futures were higher, turning lighter as the futures dropped to nearly limit lower. The quality of cattle remains very attractive, long strings and full loads of high quality grading steers and heifers. Cattle were a little cleaner this week as the ground gets drier and cattle rub the dirt off their hides, yet weighing conditions were a little fuller. Estimated dressed cost ranged from 176.00-180.00. Slaughter cows were uneven, Breaker cows steady to 1.00 higher, Boner cows 2.00 to 4.00 higher, Lean cows 6.00 to 7.00 higher. Bulls not tested.

Slaughter lambs steady to 5.00 lower. Slaughter ewes unevenly steady. Feeder lambs not well tested in recent week to offer a comparison. Moderate demand for slaughter lambs. Good demand for slaughter ewes, good for feeder lambs.
