Compared to last week: Feeder steers 5.00 to 10.00 higher, instances to 15.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 700 lbs 10.00 to 20.00 higher, over 700 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Very good demand for this nice offering of feeder cattle, the market was very active after last week's sharp advance in the cash fed cattle market to 215.00. Several long strings of backgrounded cattle, offered in full loads and multiple load lots, along with home raised steers and heifers ranging from full loads to packages. Flesh condition remains moderate to moderate plus, some light fleshed cattle offered as well. Cattle feeders were ready to give more money to get the cattle bought that they need, as they feel renewed optimism as the prospects for continued profitability look more promising. The Cattle On Feed report came out as bullish on Friday last week, but that was not enough to get the futures contracts to follow the cash trade. Buyers paid little attention to the futures today as they were able to reach all new time, historically high fat cattle prices last week.
