Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 800 lbs 10.00 to 15.00 higher, instances to 20.00 higher, over 800 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 750 lbs 8.00 to 13.00 higher, over 750 lbs 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Very good demand for this nice offering of feeder cattle. Several large strings offered in full loads and multiple load lots, along with plenty of smaller consignments to put together and make full loads. The market was very active, especially on the lighter cattle as supply of this class is getting tighter with each passing week. The market was active on the finishing type cattle as the bullish attitude amongst cattle feeders continues to grow. Cash fed cattle up to 207.00 last week, another day of gains in the cattle futures with Apr Live Cattle nearly 205.00 and the key month of June, where new crop calf feds start to be marketed, now above 200.00. Feeder Cattle futures keep climbing as well. Flesh condition on the backgrounded cattle is starting to get a little heavier as the weather remains very mild, up to 70 degrees last week, even though there was some snow and rain over the weekend, cattle have had a very easy time gaining weight this year as the ground conditions haven't been wet and muddy like most years.
