Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 10.00 to 20.00 lower. A light offering of feeder cattle this week as the futures contracts plummet. Light to moderate demand, best demand was seen on the light fleshed and lightweight steers and heifers. The market was active on the light cattle, much slower on the heavier cattle that are suitable only for finishing. Cattle producers are reluctant to offer any cattle for sale currently as so much uncertainty exists, which is resulting in few cattle at the auction. Cattle feeders want to buy cattle but the free fall of the futures contracts is making it hard to have any confidence that their purchases are cheap enough. Flesh condition light to heavy this week, the fleshy cattle were very hard to sell. Slaughter cows and bulls 3.00 to 5.00 lower.
