Different weight classes today then two weeks ago so an accurate prince trend cannot be established. Good to very good demand for today's offering. This sale featured fall calves and there was quite a few of these but also plenty of last spring's steers and heifers as well as a few replacement heifers, a little bit of everything in this offering. The majority of the cattle sold in packages. Flesh condition varied quite a bit today, from light to heavy, and quality varied a good bit also, from plain to attractive. Many producers are clearing out pens for the season to make room for the next crop of calves. A moderate to active market with a good crowd at this auction, especially for bred cows which were sold before the feeder cattle. Another very windy day for this area with little to no moisture received, these dry conditions are a major concern for producers. A long string of backgrounded steers expected for the sale next Thursday, April 24.
