Heifers calves 400 to 450 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 lower, 451 to 500 lbs 2.00 to 6.00 higher, 501 to 600 lbs mostly steady. Good to very good demand for the majority of this large calf offering which included many packages and quite a few loads. All calves come off the cow with flesh condition mostly light to moderate. Quality and preconditioning varied quite a bit today. Buyers were sometimes willing to overlook a lack of shots if the quality was attractive, however, this report shows a price spread due to the variation in preconditioning, as well as quality and sometimes a combination of both. An active market with a full house of buyers and sellers and farmer feeders. Next feeder cattle sale is Tuesday, October 25, featuring Red Angus cattle, regular sale Thursday, October 27.
