Too few calves last week to compare to today's large calf offering and develop an accurate price trend. Good to very good demand for calves today. Quite a few loads and many, many packages offered. All calves were off the cow in mostly light to moderate flesh. Preconditioning varied, and calves without all their shots sold at the bottom end of the price spectrum or were discounted. Quality varied today, but mostly average to attractive. An active market with both order buyers and a few farmer feeders in the seats. Very windy conditions today are making truck travel more dangerous and there is a heightened fire danger which is impacting harvest progress. Next feeder cattle sale is Thursday, October 20.
