A light offering last week with few comparable weight classes, best test on steers 950 to 999 lbs 10.00 lower, 1050 to 1099 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 lower. Heifers not well compared. Today's large offering consisted mostly of big, finishing type cattle selling in loads and strings and weaned and preconditioned fall calves selling in packages. Good to very good demand for cattle today, especially those lighter calves to background. Flesh condition ranged from moderate to heavy. A active market seen for this offering despite some volatility in the futures complex again. Widespread rain over the area over the weekend which was very much needed. Farmers are still planting both corn and beans and many cattle are out on grass. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, May 27.
