Compared to last week: a lighter offering with different weight classes than last week, best test on steers 950 to 999 lbs 4.00 to 10.00 lower. Lower undertones noted on heifers. A couple strings, quite a few loads, and many packages in today's offering. Lighter cattle to grass or background see very good demand, good to very good demand for finishing types depending on flesh condition. Flesh on bigger cattle mostly moderate to heavy, backgrounding type cattle in mostly light to moderate plus flesh. Quality varied quite a bit on packages, loads lots mostly average to attractive in quality. An active market with mostly order buyers in the seats today exhibiting slightly more caution procuring cattle than seen last week. Much corn has been planted and the area is in need of rain. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, May 20.
