Yearling steers not well compared this week, best test on yearling heifers 950 to 999 lbs 2.00 to 6.00 lower. Best test on steer calves 550 to 599 lbs 20.00 to 25.00 higher, best test on heifer calves 500 to 549 lbs 20.00 higher. Good to very good demand for both yearlings and calves today. Several strings of yearling steers and heifers featuring multiple loads as well as packages and loads made up a nice yearling offering. Flesh mostly moderate plus to heavy. Many, many packages and loads of calves in today's offering. Just under half of the offering was weaned, from long time weaned to just a couple weeks. Flesh ranged from light to heavy with some fill seen at times. Some tag on the calves as the warmer weather has created muddy yard conditions. Quality was mostly average to attractive and most of the calves were fully preconditioned. An active market with buyers and farmer feeders determined to get cattle bought before the holiday break. Much warmer temps have arrived and melted almost all the snow and ice and these milder temps are expected thru Christmas. This is the last feeder cattle sale of 2025, next feeder cattle sale will be a special feeder cattle sale on Saturday, January 3, 2026 , with the regular sale on Wednesday, January 7. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
