Compared to last week: best test on steers 900 to 949 lbs 7.00 to 10.00 higher, 950 to 999 lbs mostly steady. Heifers not well compared. Very good demand for cattle today. About half of the cattle in today's offering were off grass with the balance coming out of yards. Plenty of loads and multiple loads to choose from and also quite a few packages, many of these are tested open heifers. Less flesh overall on feedlot cattle than last week, mostly moderate to moderate plus today, grass cattle mostly in light to moderate flesh. Quality similar to last week, from plain to attractive. A few less folks in the seats today but still an active market with plenty of interest in getting cattle bought, especially those coming off grass. Cooler temperatures this week, most producers are still making hay and haven't started silage yet. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, September 10.
