Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 899 lbs 10.00 to 15.00 lower with instances up to 25.00 lower, 950 to 1049 lbs mostly steady. Heifers not well compared. Very good demand for yearling cattle today. This offering included several strings of fancy steers and heifers coming off grass as well as many packages of tested open heifers. Flesh on grass cattle mostly light to moderate. A few loads and packages of yard cattle again this week, flesh varied from moderate to some heavy flesh at times. A couple packages of spring calves in town, these were met with mostly good demand with just a few buyers interested, most operations are not quite ready for spring calves yet. Both weaned and unweaned calves, most with at least one round of shots. An active market seen for this offering. A few places getting ready to begin silage harvest but much of the corn crop is not quite ready yet. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, September 17.
