Compared to last week: best test on steers 900 to 949 lbs 7.00 to 12.00 higher and 950 to 999 lbs 10.00 to 15.00 higher, both on a narrow comparison. Heifers not well compared. Good to very good demand for this offering with best demand seen for cattle off grass. About two thirds of the offering was out of yards and these cattle carried some heavy flesh and tag at times. Grass cattle in mostly light to moderate flesh. Quality varied, from plain to attractive. A couple packages of spring born calves offered, these were met with light to moderate demand as most yards are not quite ready to take on calves. Calves offering included both weaned and off the cow as well as vaccinated and not touched calves. An active market seen for this offering. Temperatures much cooler this week and without the humidity, very nice weather for livestock. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, September 3.
