Compared to last week: steers 600 to 649 lbs and 750 to 799 lbs mostly steady, 650 to 749 lbs 5.00 to 7.00 lower, 800 to 999 lbs 4.00 to 6.00 higher. Heifers 600 to 649 lbs and 750 to 799 lbs mostly steady, 650 to 699 lbs 3.00 to 6.00 higher, other weight classes not well compared. Good to very good demand for another large offering of feeder cattle. Less grass and backgrounding type cattle this week and more finishing type cattle, with quite a few being backgrounded cattle from last fall. Flesh condition varied, from moderate to heavy, more flesh overall than seen last week. Buyers still discriminate for flesh condition, however, quality was quite attractive today and they are willing to overlook some extra flesh for the right kind of cattle. An active market for the offering. The area remains dry, however, there is a chance of snow this weekend. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, April 2.
