No sale last week due to a winter storm, compared to two weeks ago: best test on steers 650 to 749 lbs and 850 to 949 lbs mostly steady, 800 to 849 lbs 3.00 to 7.00 lower, 950 to 999 lbs 3.00 to 6.00 higher, 750 to 799 lbs not well compared. Best test on heifers 650 to 849 lbs mostly steady. Good to very good demand for this large offering. Many strings, loads, and packages available including quite a few strings of backgrounded cattle. Grass and backgrounding type cattle continue to have many outlets, most of these type of cattle sold in packages today. Many big cattle to choose from, flesh ranged from moderate to some heavy, with some mud on the cattle at times due to the recent moisture. Several opportunities to buy home raised replacement heifers and there were a few producers in the seats for these. Quality mostly average to attractive today. An active market with plenty of optimism which was further fueled by a jump in the board. The rain and snow last week have given producers some hope about grass conditions and they are determined to have the cattle to fill pastures. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, April 16.
