Compared to last week: best test on steers 550 to 599 lbs 6.00 to 8.00 higher, 650 to 699 lbs and 750 to 799 lbs mostly steady, 700 to 749 lbs 5.00 to 7.00 lower. Best test on heifers 650 to 699 lbs and 750 to 799 lbs mostly steady. Good demand for cattle today. A smaller offering due to the extremely cold weather, the promise of temps in the 40's by the end of the weekend had quite a few producers holding their cattle another week. Not quite as many greener, backgrounding type of cattle this week, overall flesh today mostly moderate plus with some heavy flesh at times. Quality was average to attractive and the cattle were clean and open haired. An active market with the normal crowd of buyers and a few farmer feeders in the seats. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, February 26.
