As filed

Compared to last week: steers 550 to 849 lbs unevenly steady except 600 to 649 lbs 5.00 to 7.00 lower. Heifers 500 to 649 lbs 10.00 to 12.00 lower, 650 to 799 lbs mostly steady. Good demand for a today's large offering of loads and packages of mostly home raised cattle. Many attractive quality cattle to choose from, including several loads of reputation replacement heifers which saw very good demand. Similar to last week, flesh varied as there were many light fleshed grass and backgrounding cattle as well as finishing types which had seen some corn. An active market with the normal crowd of buyers and a few less farmer feeders in the seats and, like last week, not quite as bullish as the uncertain futures market of the past week has put some pressure on feeder cattle. Very cold temperatures have arrived along with dangerous windchills, some areas have gotten snow but not in great amounts. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, February 19.
