Heifers 500 to 599 lbs mostly steady, 600 to 649 lbs and 700 to 749 lbs 4.00 to 8.00 higher with instances up to 12.00 higher on 700 to 749 lbs, 650 to 699 lbs not well compared. Very good demand for this large offering of many packages and loads of mostly home raised cattle. Most of the calves were long time weaned and fully vaccinated, a few consignments of calves coming off the cow saw discounts at times. Lots of attractive cattle to choose from including many light, green, grass and backgrounding types. Calves were open haired and clean as pen conditions remain dry. An active to very active market despite a negative day on the live and feeder board. Buyers remain optimistic that tight supplies will keep the cattle high and are determined to own cattle to market this summer and fall. Warm temps and dry conditions for the rest of the week. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, February 5.
