Compared to last week: Different weight classes of yearling steers than last week, higher undertones noted on 850 to 999 lbs. Yearling heifers 800 to 849 lbs and 900 to 949 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Calves too lightly tested last week for good comparisons. Good to very good demand for yearlings selling in load lots, especially those still coming off grass. Moderate to good demand for packages as these varied quite a bit in quality today. Moderate to good demand for calves which sold mostly in packages with just a handful of load lots. Hide color and lack of good vaccinations made for larger price spreads. A couple weaned packages, weaned from 21 to 60 days, but the rest of the offering was off the cow in mostly light to moderate flesh. An active market on yearling cattle as the supply of these is getting tight, moderate to active on calves. Weaning conditions for calves remain very dry and dusty. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, November 6.
