Compared to last week: steers 850 to 949 lbs mostly steady, 950 to 999 and 1000 to 1049 lbs 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Different weight classes of heifers than last week to develop an accurate price trend, higher undertones noted on heifers. Good to very good demand for this large yearling offering featuring many strings, loads, and packages with the majority of the cattle straight off grass. Flesh mostly light to moderate plus today. Quality varied but slightly more attractive overall than last week. A couple consignments of spring calves offered and met with moderate demand. Calves were vaccinated and off the cow. Most of the interest in spring calves was by farmer feeders. An active market with buyers and farmer feeders in the seats, buyers taking multiple loads to fill pens quite often today. Bean harvest is just around the corner for this area, many producers are cutting corn silage or just finishing up. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, September 25.
