Compared to last week: steers 550 to 599 lbs and 700 to 799 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher, 600 to 649 lbs steady to 3.00 lower, 650 to 699 lbs and 800 to 849 lbs mostly steady, 850 to 899 lbs 4.00 to 5.00 lower, 900 to 949 lbs steady to 3.00 higher. Heifers 550 to 649 and 700 to 749 lbs 2.00 to 7.00 higher, 650 to 699 lbs mostly steady. Good to very good demand for today's large offering featuring many loads, multiple loads, and packages of mostly home raised cattle. Cattle suitable to background or grass continue to see excellent demand as supplies dwindle, especially those load lots of black hided cattle. Flesh varied quite a bit today, cattle carrying some meat see less discrimination than they would have seen a month ago. Lots of attractive quality cattle to choose from and the market was very active as buyers are determined to own cattle to market this fall, either as grass yearlings or fat cattle. The weather continues to be warm and dry and the cattle are staying clean. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, March 20.
