Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 999 lbs steady to 4.00 lower, 1000 to 1049 lbs mostly steady with an instance up to 9.00 higher. Heifers not well compared. Good demand for this large yearling offering. Many loads and strings of both steers and heifers, the majority coming off grass. Packages offered were mostly tested open heifers. Flesh condition on grass cattle varied more this week, from light to moderate plus. A moderate to active market seen for this offering, buyers are still interested in multiple loads at times but very seldom took all loads available in a cut. Cooler, wet weather all week has hindered field work and made yard and lot conditions muddy with little to no sun to dry things out. Rain is in the forecast for the beginning of next week. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, October 2.
