Compared to last week: best test on steers 900 to 1049 lbs steady to 3.00 lower. Heifers not well compared. A nice offering of yearlings today with the majority coming off grass. Good demand for loads and strings of yearlings. Flesh condition varied, from light to moderate plus. A large portion of the heifers offered were spayed. An active market with many opportunities to buy several loads of cattle to fill pens but buyers were most likely to take a few loads of a cut, not all. The futures complex has continued to be volatile creating much uncertainty in the market. Sunny and dry conditions expected for the next week and bean harvest has begun. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, October 9.
