Compared to last week: steers 800 to 849 steady to 1.00 higher, 850 to 899 lbs 6.00 to 8.00 lower with instances up to 10.00 lower, 900 to 999 lbs 3.00 to 4.00 higher. Heifers not well compared. A large run of yearlings in today's offering with all cattle coming right off grass and met with good to very good demand. Quality varied, from plain to attractive and flesh condition mostly light to moderate. Some of these yearlings are very green and coming off short, drought stressed pastures. The market was mostly active despite some volatility in the futures complex again this week. Buyers are still willing to buy multiple loads to fill pens when available. This week has seen cooler temperatures and some rainy conditions as well. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, September 25.
