No yearlings last week for comparison. Best test on steer calves 600 to 649 lbs 5.00 higher on a narrow comparison, heifer calves not well compared. A large yearling offering this week, strings of both steers and heifers available with many opportunities to buy multiple loads to fill pens. Yearlings mostly in moderate to moderate plus flesh with some heavy flesh at times. Good to very good demand for yearlings. A lighter offering of calves with most calves selling in packages, just a couple loads available. A few consignments were weaned but the majority are still coming off the cow. Quality varied, from plain to attractive. Mostly good demand for calves, it was just a bit harder to make loads of calves today. An active market with many buyers trying to tie up loose ends before the end of the year. Temperatures have been very up and down lately making it harder calves, especially newly weaned ones. This is the last feeder cattle sale of 2025, next feeder cattle sale will be Friday, January 9, 2026. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
