Compared to last week: best test on steer calves 600 to 649 lbs 7.00 to 10.00 higher. Best test on heifer calves 550 to 599 lbs 10.00 to 12.00 higher. No yearlings in today's offering for comparison. Good to very good demand for calves today. A lighter offering with mostly packages and just a couple load lots. A few more weaned calves available but the majority are still coming off the cow. Quality more attractive overall than seen last week, most calves were average to attractive in quality and flesh condition mostly moderate to moderate plus. Most calves had at least one good round of shots, usually given in the fall. An active market with most of the usual order buyers attending and a few less farmer feeders. The weather this week has been challenging, raining earlier in the week and forming quite a bit of ice and snow later in the week, some road and yard conditions are still very slick, this weekend will feature bitter cold. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, December 19, this will be the last sale of 2025.
