Compared to last week: best steers 650 to 749 lbs and 800 to 849 lbs unevenly steady. Best test on heifers 600 to 699 lbs unevenly steady. A very large offering of feeder cattle today. Many loads and packages available, a few strings of back grounded cattle but the majority of the cattle were home raised. Very good demand seen for lighter cattle suitable for grass or backgrounding, good to very good demand for bigger cattle depending on flesh condition. Quality was quite attractive throughout the day but there was a variety of flesh. from moderate to some heavy flesh at times. An active market seen for this offering. A good week for both live and feeder cattle futures, buyers and producers are feeling very optimistic for the fall. Some areas are under a winter weather advisory for this weekend and most of ND and SD will see high winds even if they don't receive any precipitation. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, March 21.
