Compared to last week: steers 500 to 549 lbs and 600 to 749 lbs 4.00 to 9.00 lower with instances up to 20.00 lower on 600 to 649 lbs, 550 to 599 lbs and 800 to 849 lbs mostly steady, 750 to 799 lbs not well compared. Heifers 500 to 649 lbs mostly steady. Good to very good demand for today's offering. Many loads and packages, a few backgrounded cattle again this week but the majority were home raised. Quality mostly average to attractive but flesh varied, from moderate to some heavy, with some cattle carrying tag. An active market with plenty of buyers and a few farmer feeders in the seats, slightly less determination to just own cattle then seen the last couple weeks. Very cold weather moving into the area over the weekend and into next week. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, January 24.
