Compared to last week: best test on steers 600 to 649 lbs and 700 to 749 lbs 25.00 to 30.00 higher. Heifers not well compared. Very good demand for many loads and packages of calves and a handful of loads of yearlings offered today. Many attractive calves to choose from today, almost all were weaned and most had good vaccinations. Flesh varied, but mostly moderate to moderate plus with some heavy flesh at times. Aside from the yearlings, the majority of today's offering was home raised. Market very active with both buyers and some farmer feeders competing to buy cattle. Several opportunities to buy multiple loads of the same man's cattle which buyers took advantage of. There is a great amount of optimism in the industry right now and this was very evident this week. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, January 17.
