Compared to last week: best test on yearling steers 900 to 1049 lbs steady to 1.00 lower. Best test on yearling heifers 900 to 949 lbs steady. Calves too lightly tested last week for good comparisons. Another large offering of yearlings this week with most cattle selling in loads and strings. A few loads still coming off grass, but most of the cattle came out of yards. Flesh ranged from moderate to some heavy flesh. Buyers are eager to buy these yearlings as the supply is getting fairly tight and some feeders prefer to feed a yearling than wean a calf. A larger calf offering this week with many packages and just a handful of loads. Mostly good demand for calves with some discount for colored calves at times. All calves came off the cow with varied shot records, most had at least one full round. Quality varied, from plain to attractive. An active market with plenty of buyers and some farmer feeders in the seats. The area saw a little bit of snow today. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, November 8.
