Compared to last week: best test on yearling steers 900 to 949 lbs and 1000 to 1049 lbs 4.00 to 7.00 higher. Best test on yearling heifers 900 to 949 lbs 2.00 higher. Calves not well compared. Good to very good demand for yearling cattle today. Several long strings offered as well as loads and some packages. Quite a few of the cattle were out of yards and carried some flesh, a few loads off grass yet but this is coming to an end. Yearlings varied in quality but many attractive ones to choose from and selling in multiple loads to fill pens which buyers were ready to do. A light offering of calves today which sold in packages. Moderate to good demand for calves as quality and vaccinations varied greatly. Calves were off the cow in light to moderate flesh, some fill seen at times. An active market on yearlings, moderate to active on calves with a few farmer feeders looking to get calves bought. A larger offering of calves expected for next Friday, November 1, and another 3000 or so yearlings.
