Compared to last week: steers 850 to 1049 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Heifers not well compared. Good to very good demand for today's large yearling offering. Several long strings and many loads and packages featured with the majority coming off grass. Quite a few of the packages of tested open heifers as producers are busy getting herds worked and PG'd. Quality similar to last week with mostly average to attractive cattle offered. Flesh varied but mostly light to moderate plus, slightly more flesh overall than last week with a few yard cattle in the mix today. An active market with buyers feeling more optimistic this week. This area is quite dry and receiving a little rain today, much of the silage harvest is completed here. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, September 20.
