Compared to last week: best test on steers 700 to 749 and 800 to 849 lbs 4.00 to 8.00 lower, 750 to 799 lbs and 850 to 899 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Heifers not well compared this week. Moderate to good demand for today's offering featuring several strings of backgrounded cattle as well as loads and packages of home raised cattle. Lighter cattle with backgrounding or grass options saw the best demand. Flesh varied, from moderate to some heavy flesh at times. Buyers are more critical of flesh condition than they were several weeks ago. Quality mostly average to attractive today. A moderate to active market with the uncertainty of the board putting pressure on the cash market. Buyers are more cautious and many times taking only one load out of multiple load opportunities. Today was another day of losses on both live and feeder cattle futures. Very warm weather forecasted for the weekend with a chance of rain for next week. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, April 19.
