Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 899 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 lower, other weight classes of steers not well compared. Best test on heifers 850 to 949 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Good demand for yearlings today. Similar to last week, most of the yearlings sold in loads and strings with the majority coming off grass. A couple consignments of lot cattle, these are met with less demand as there are still lots of good, green grass cattle on offer. Quality similar to last week with most cattle being average to attractive in quality. One consignment of spring calves offered and met with light demand, Its a bit early for calves in this area yet and too many guys are trying to harvest and get more of the fall work done. An active market with more buyers in the seats this week and a positive bump in the futures today. The first freeze of the season expected tonight. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, October 13.
