Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 950 lbs steady to 2.00 higher, 951 to 1050 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher with instances up to 8.00 higher. Good to very good demand for this large offering of loads and strings, including a long string of 3000 steers from one family operation. All cattle today were off dry grass in mostly light to moderate flesh. Quality similar to last week, mostly attractive overall. An active market today, buyers were a little more ready to buy multiple loads this week. Hot and dry weather for the area again this past week. Many producers have started chopping corn, much more corn than planned as it will not pay to combine it. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, August 20.
