Compared to last week: steer calves 450 to 500 and 551 to 650 lbs mostly steady, 501 to 550 lbs and 651 to 750 lbs 2.00 to 6.00 higher with instances up to 10.00 higher on 501 to 550 lbs. Heifer calves 450 to 650 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher except for 501 to 550 lbs mostly steady. Very few yearlings sold today to compare to last week's large yearling offering. Good to very good demand for today's large calf offering of many packages and a handful of loads. Quality varied, from plain to attractive. A few weaned packages today but most of the calves were off the cow . Flesh varied but mostly moderate to moderate plus. Most were preconditioned, but a few packages with just a 7 way shot were discounted at times. An active market with both buyers and farmer feeders in the seats with the market getting stronger throughout the day. Good gains on both live and feeder cattle futures today. Next feeder cattle sale is next Friday, December 20.
