Compared to last week: Steers from 500 lbs to 549 lbs were 4.00 to 6.00 higher, steers from 550 lbs to 599 lbs were steady to 2.00 lower, steers from 600 lbs to 649 lbs were 8.00 to 10.00 lower, steers from 650 lbs to 699 lbs were 4.00 to 6.00 lower, steers from 700 lbs to 749 lbs were 10.00 to 12.00 lower, steers from 750 lbs to 799 lbs were 4.00 to 6.00 higher; heifers were mostly steady with instances 10.00 higher on a limited comparisons. Yearlings were limited in numbers today selling as packages and part loads. Replacement heifers were well received today and were met with very good demand. Many attractive calves offered in loads and multiple loads were met with very good demand. Several opportunities to purchase multiple loads of one owner cattle, up to six loads in the same sort. Most of todays offering were long time weaned, fully pre conditioned, clean and attractive for quality. Flesh conditions ranged from light fleshed hay fed cattle to moderate plus coming out of grow yards. An active to very active market as framer feeders and order buyers were competing with internet buyers. Buyers continue to chase the cash market higher as the futures market continues to play catchup. Next feeder sale is scheduled for Friday January 17, 2025.
