Compared to two weeks ago: Steers from 550 lbs to 649 lbs and steers from 700 lbs to 749 lbs were usually 8.00 to 10.00 higher, steers from 650 lbs to 699 lbs and 750 lbs to 799 lbs were generally steady: Heifers from 550 lbs to 649 lbs and 700 lbs to 749 lbs were mostly 3.00 to 4.00 higher instances of 8.00 to 10.00 higher. No other comparisons available. Several long strings of home raised reputation cattle offered buyers the opportunity to purchase multiple loads of one owner cattle. Good to very good demand for todays offering of long time weaned and fully preconditioned cattle. Flesh conditions ranged from light fleshed hay fed cattle running out on pasture to moderate plus cattle coming from a grow yard. Most cattle were showing some tag as recent weather conditions have made for sloppy pen conditions and muddy roads in some areas. Best demand for lighter fleshed cattle suitable for summer grazing programs. The bulk of the sale consisted of black hided steers that were attractive for quality. Several strings of fancy replacement heifers were met with good demand. Lots of buyers in the seats competing with internet buyers made for an active market. Next feeder sale will be Friday, February 16, 2024. Happy Valentine's Day: Eat Beef.
