Compared to the last feeder sale two weeks ago: Steers from 650 lbs to 699 lbs were 6.00 to 8.00 higher, steers from 850 lbs to 899 lbs were 4.00 to 8.00 higher; Heifers from 600 lbs to 699 lbs were 5.00 to 10.00 higher, heifers from 700 lbs to 849 lbs were 2.00 to 5.00 higher, no other comparisons available. The market appeared to get stronger as the sale progressed. Very good demand for todays large offering of high quality feeder cattle and good demand for the replacement heifers. Flesh conditions ranged from light fleshed hay fed cattle to moderate plus back grounded cattle. Several long strings (up to 10 loads in one sort) from reputation producers offered buyers the opportunity to purchase full loads of one owner cattle. There were lots of part loads and packages for buyers to put full loads of similar cattle together. Parts of the area received some much needed moisture while other areas remain extremely dry. The next feeder sale will be in two weeks, May 20, 2022. Eat beef.
