Compared to the last feeder sale two weeks ago: Steers from 650 lbs to 899 lbs were steady to instances 4.00 higher, Heifers from 600 lbs to 649 lbs were steady to 2.00 higher, heifers from 650 lbs to 699 lbs were 6.00 to 8.00 lower, heifers from 700 lbs to 899 lbs were steady to 4.00 higher. No other comparisons available. Very good demand for todays large offering of high quality feeder cattle, good demand for the replacement heifers. Flesh conditions ranged from light fleshed hay fed cattle to moderate plus back grounded cattle. Several long strings (up to 10 loads in one sort) from reputation producers offered buyers the opportunity to purchase full loads of one owner cattle. There were lots of part loads of and packages available for buyers to put together full loads of similar cattle. Continue to see a lesser demand for the replacement heifers that come to town as producers continue to trim their inventory due to extreme dry conditions. The next feeder sale will be May 6, 2022, stay safe and eat beef.
