Compared to last week 650 lbs to 749 lbs steers were 1.00 to 3.00 lower wile the 750 lbs to 799 lbs were steady to 2.00 higher; feeder heifers from 550 lbs 649 lbs were 4.00 to 6.00 higher, 750 lbs to 799 lbs were steady to 3.00 lower. Flesh conditions ranged from light flesh hay fed to moderate plus, back grounded cattle. Most of the cattle were relatively clean with little to no tag on them. Several long strings offered buyers the opportunity to purchases multiple loads of one owner cattle. There were plenty of part loads and packages available today to make loads, usually at a lower price than full loads. Several strings of NHTC program cattle offered today, those that stayed in the program are marked accordingly. Several sets of replacement heifers were met with good demand. Several market related cancellations today as most markets remain under pressure. Futures contracts closed substantially lower today. Good to moderate demand as there was mostly order buyers in the seats today. Next feeder sale will be Friday, March 13th expecting a nice run of high quality feeders.
