Compared to last week steers from 600 lbs to 800 lbs were 3.00 to 8.00 lower: feeder heifers from 550 lbs to 750 lbs were from 2.00 to instances of 10.00 lower. Flesh conditions ranged from light fleshed, hay fed cattle to moderate plus, back grounded cattle ready for a feed yard. Best demand was for the greener, hay fed cattle suited for a summer grazing program. Several long strings of reputation cattle from long time producers offered buyers the opportunity to purchase multiple loads of one owner cattle. Plenty of consignments of part loads and packages available today also. Warmer temperature in the area this week are making for some muddy roads and pen conditions, causing a few cancellations. The market held up better today then most expected, considering the beating the markets have been through this week. The next feeder sale will be Friday, March 6th expecting a large run of high quality cattle.
